This is a book about pain. About fear — fear of cancer, fear of death, and about what it means to overcome them. How does one overcome the fear of death? By living. By remembering that tomorrow will come. This book emerged from a series of photographs taken during an illness, with the author living in the midst of uncertainty. Photography filled the void, not as a means of fighting the pain, but as a way to displace it. It allowed meaning to take shape — meaning that felt indistinct, yet somehow akin to hope.
